Powering thermostats,
sun's drive
captured by
carbon die-oxide
Will it be death
to smoke on a water world
The old regime too ruthless
too lazy, too stupid
to change with
climate shift's invitation

Cool ideas
abound, from wind energy
to cheap solar power
But our need for speed
is juxtaposed with greed
Take money out of every equation
and one is left with utility
Perhaps pride will replace
...one day

Revolution
around free energy
is possible
but is such a hot topic
we divide ourselves
over monopolization
in pursuit of greed
meanwhile people heat up
and populations explode
